Local HELP runners have recorded exceptional successes in ultra distance running in 2005.
- Humbie farmer Brian Marshall (background picture) crowned Scottish Hill Champion after a series of races held throughout the year and spread across the country
- Bill Watson finishes second in the multi terrain "ultra" distance Ridgeway Challenge
- Paddy Jumelle ran 116 miles in 24 hour race in London last October

Haddington Half-Marathon - August 2005
Almost two hundred road runners took part in the Asics Haddington Half
Marathon organised by HELP.
First to cross the line overall was Dave Wright(72:24)
from the Hunters Bog Trotters who also led his club to the team prize.

Haddington 5 miles - June 2005
The course record was missed by five seconds when county based Kenyan runner John Murithi crossed the finishing line.
The nineteen year old clocked 23 min 55 sec.
