About the Club
Welcome to the Haddington and East Lothian Pacemakers website. Haddington East Lothian Pacemakers (HELP) is a friendly local running club based in the east of Scotland, about 30km east of Edinburgh. The origins of the club are like minded people getting together to run and raise money for charity and “help” others.
The hundred or so adult members compete in road, cross country and hill races mostly in the central belt but often futher afield and abroad occasionaly.
Training takes place at the Aubigny Sports Centre, Haddington on Wednesday nights at 7.00pm and other informal sessions on the track, along the beaches on a Sunday morning or in the Lammermuir Hills to the south of our area. Members range from serious international level athletes to fun runners who are content to come along for an occassional jog. An active ladies section ensure that there is always a range of abilities around to accompany new runners.
Social events are arranged throughout the year, sometimes involving running, and are as much part of the club’s activities, as the hard exercise. Friends, visitors and other runners are welcome to join the club or just come along for a run.
